Leixlip

The name Leixlip derives from the Irish "Leac Sip," which refers to the salmon leap or weir on the River Liffey at this location. The town has medieval roots, with Leixlip Castle dating back to the 13th century, constructed by Adam de Featherstone following the Norman invasion. The castle remains a notable landmark and has been privately owned for much of its history.
